African illegal migrants terrorising, robbing and mugging Clontarf residents at will

Newstalk heard that there have been several muggings in the last few weeks in the Clontarf area. In one incident, two teenagers were chased through the Conquer Hill road area. Their attackers tried to steal one of the boy's jackets and a mobile phone — two target items common in the muggings — but locals intervened and thwarted the attack. One local admitted to Newstalk that the perpetrators were African and that they were big lads, "obviously coming in here from other areas". Clontarf is a wealthier area with a small African population compared to Balbriggan or Blanchardstown in west Dublin which are areas more used to African crime. Mosney, a Direct Povision centre for asylum seekers is nearby Balbriggan and many former residents have settled in the seaside town
