On Tuesday 12th March, 2019, The Lumen Fidei Institute hosted a conference in The Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Ireland. As part of the conference we held a Rosary Procession from the hotel to the Irish Bishop's Conference Spring meeting in the Columba Centre, Maynooth. Just over 100 people prayed the Rosary with us. On arrival at the Columba Centre, a petition was handed to Monsignor Gearóid Dullea, executive secretary to the Irish Episcopal conference asking our bishops to properly address 10 serious areas of concern for Irish Catholics. French police are being urged close police stations on Wednesday as part of a protest over pay and conditions - including a demand to be paid the 23 million hours of overtime they are owed - as the government scrambles to quell growing unrest among the country's forces of law and order. After the yellow vests, it's now the turn of the blue vests (gilets bleus) to show their anger as French police unions are calling on officers to picket France's police stations on Wednesday and only answer emergency calls as they fight for better working conditions and pay. Talks were held between police unions and the Interior Minister Christophe Castaner on Tuesday but they failed to find a solution to quell the anger. On Wednesday, when talks will continue, police unions have urged members to "do the minimum" meaning only respond to emergencies. Over five months ago, David Stanton, TD, Minister of State in the Department of Justice and Equality, responsible for Equality, Immigration and Integration, requested alternatives for accommodating refugees and migrants in an interview on Clare FM. This was during the outcry when the charming Irish village of Lisdoonvarna was faced with having 100 "refugees", equal to a third of their population, forcibly inserted into their midsts, despite having consistently said no to this proposal and voting unanimous vote for no. Ireland is in for dire straits if Leo Varadkar's disastrous legacy since being Health Minister is any to go by. An A&E boss has admitted that the Hospital crisis is killing patients! Hospitals across the country continued to buckle with a whopping 13 Percent of the Irish population stuck on Hospital waiting lists. Last month 511,415 people were on the outpatient waiting lists in public hospitals that drag on for years and years. Waterford for instance seems to have become more known for its accelerated "diversity" enforcement than for its 7 year Hospital waiting list! One wonders if no one has made the connection between importing masses of 3rd Worlders with all sorts of health and other problems, and the crisis in our public services?
