A GUINEAN national was sentenced to one months’ imprisonment for his role in a bizarre incident during which a garda car was damaged. Ousmane Baah, aged 29, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to a criminal damage charge relating to an incident which happened at O’Connell Street on December 31, 2017. Inspector Dermot O’Connor told Limerick District Court, Mr Baah, had ‘jumped’ onto the bonnet of an unmarked patrol car while it was stopped at traffic lights. The bonnet, he said, was dented and around €250 worth of damage caused to the vehicle. The defendant, who received a three month prison earlier this month for a theft offence in Dublin, also admitted stealing a bottle of Huge Boss perfume, worth €79, from Debenhams, O’Connell Street on February 16, last. Three men have been found guilty of grooming and abusing an Oxford schoolgirl between 2002 and 2005. Anjum Dogar, 36, Mohammed Karrar, 44, and his 39-year-old brother Bassam were convicted of all 10 charges. The abusers, who are already in prison for similar offences, will be sentenced in January. During the trial at Oxford Crown Court, the victim said she was raped by Dogar and Mohammed Karrar in 2004 at the age of 15 and fell pregnant. She later had an abortion. The three men were part of a violent sex grooming ring convicted in 2013 of abusing six girls from Oxford over an eight-year period after a police operation codenamed Bullfinch. After the unanimous verdicts for charges including indecent assault, conspiracy to rape and rape were read out, Mohammed Karrar clapped the jury. Gardai in Blanchardstown are struggling to deal with an upsurge of crime and violence and anti social behaviour by gangs of youths in the new communities areas of Tyrrelstown North Dublin. 

The anti social behaviour including a number of assaults , one of an elderly man has left residents in fear of going out in the evening.

A number of residents have taken to social media with harrowing stories . 

One resident wrote: “They litter, destroy property, break into people’s houses and attack innocent passers-by.”

Knife homicides in England and Wales hit a record high during the 12 months up to March 2018, with the deaths “destroying lives and shattering communities.” 285 killings were committed, the biggest number since records began. German police had to call in reinforcement, deploying scores of officers to quell mayhem in a reception center in country’s south, where a group of migrants faced off with security personnel.
